Failed Communism: Wealth for Self, Not People––Ukraine, China, etc.

Yanukovych-lavish-home    As impoverished, hard working Ukrainians try to recover their nation from Russian influence and their murderous ex-President Yanukovych,  they now discover that while their country is broke, their ex-President lived opulently lavish!

William Booth’s Washington Post article on Yanukovych’s estate includes photo illustrations of this ‘ex-Communist’s’ delight in basking in the wealth he stole from the nation he once ruled. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian people had never seen the wealth of the palatial grounds produced by the taxes of their hard work.

And as they tread in very orderly manner through the vast 500 acre grounds, the nation’s citizens express awe-struck controlled anger that this man obviously stole the nation’s riches, while at the same time driving it into bankrupt poverty.

Booth writes:  “His furnishings—or what was left of his furnishings, since he crated up much of his stuff when he fled—was well matched and appropriate to the decor.  Surprisingly, at least to me, there wasn’t too much gold.”

As he ruled over this nation of mostly struggling farmers, Yanukovych maintained: a zoo with ostriches and exotic Burmese fowls; a separate petting zoo; a nine-hole golf course including difficult water traps; a greenhouse, orchards, gardens, cows, scrubbed-clean pigs, a clinic, an electric generating station, etc.

Booth counted five guest houses, but there are probably more, a cell tower, a helicopter pad with hangers, a gas station, mechanics repair stalls, and, oh yes––a rare car collection with Russian cars, military jeeps and Harley Davidson motorcycles, all for which the ex-President was building a museum.

Whoops, one must not forget to mention that extraordinary private restaurant  furnished inside a Spanish galleon Yanukovych-Spanish-galleoncraft sitting inside the ex-President’s riverside harbor.  It is of course filled with expensive cognacs and rare wines.  And one bathroom with toilets sitting upon gold claws simply leaves one speechless.

The only thing that can top such exposure of a failed political system, supposedly based on full equality of wealth, will be when people find out how much wealth Putin and his cronies have stolen from the failing Russian nation.

But then the truth about China, presently ruling as an authentic Communist empire which vows that wealth will be ‘equally distributed among the people’ is also revealed.  Writing for The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, Marina Walker Guevara, Gerard Ryle, Alexa Olesen, Mar Cabra, Michael Hudson and Christoph Giesen reveal:

“Government officials and their families and associates in China,  Azerbaijan, Russia, Canada, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia and other countries have embraced the use of covert companies and bank accounts.” Is there any wonder why the people of some of these countries angrily protest?

Of China, David Barboza of The New York Times discusses the wealth of Prime Minister Wen Jiabao hidden among his family members, including his wife, mother, son, daughter, younger brother, brother-in-law, etc., who “have become extraordinarily wealthy during his leadership . . . [with] controlled assets worth at least $ 2.7 billion.”  Such is another example of Communism’s absolute failure!

Thank God Bible inspired writing promises an end to such political lies, graft and corruption: “Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days (James 5: 1 – 3). Hooray, indeed the last days are now!!
