Hitler’s 1,000 Years: Imitation of German History and of Christ! Pt. 2

German-Nazi-empire    Most are not aware that the terms ‘Holy’ and ‘Roman’––that is Holy Roman Empire––is an oxymoron, meaning they are incompatible terms with opposite meanings. And ‘Empire’ does not fit with ‘Holy’ as well.

In the Christian context, in which the Catholic Church insists it belongs, according to dictionary.com, ‘Holy’ means “saintly; godly; pious; devout; having a spiritually pure quality; entitled to worship or veneration as or as if sacred.”

In the Christian Bible, ‘Holy’ is an adjective reserved for God, for His Son Jesus Christ, or for The Holy Spirit, The Third Member of the Divine Trinity.  God calls His house, the temple at Jerusalem, Holy, because it was for Him as a throne.

God’s Word never refers to any nation as Holy, even Old Testament Israel, which repeatedly got into sinful trouble.  In its day, Rome was the absolutely opposite of Holy, living no where near to God’s standards for redeemed man.

The historical Roman Empire was a major hellenistic culture which sanctioned worship of many different gods, sexual liaisons outside of marriage, and religious materialism of astrology, magic, oracles, charms, atheism, superstitions and spells. All such practices are strongly condemned in God’s Word.

Thus, the questions is, how was the Roman Empire Holy?  Just what or who is the subject of such identification byDaniel-Four-Beasts-08-1st-Reich the Catholic Church?  Surely church officials understand that if Rome or Roman can in no way be holy, the Empire cannot be as well––certainly not in the Biblical, Christian sense of the word.

Moreover, in any definition of Christianity, how can the Roman Catholic Church be associated with the ‘Holy’ Roman Empire? Is the relationship between the two the same as the tensions between Emperor Charlemagne and Pope Leo III during the 1st Reich Holy Roman Empire.

During the First Reich, Pope Leo wanted the church to rule the vast empire and its wealth, and not Charlemagne. But dukes threatened Leo’s life because he confiscated their property.  After he saved Leo’s life, Charlemagne had Leo crown him Emperor of the Roman Empire.  Later, Leo put the word ‘holy’ in front of that title, insinuating that the church was over the king, and thus in charge of the realm.

Thus, the word ‘Holy’ in the title had no Christian significance whatever.  It was merely a political ‘tag-on’. And it is the same today.  As Germany struggles to set laws for the European Union, it constantly confronts objections from the Catholic Church which believes the state is stepping into the church’s authority.

As Christian non-fiction prophecy books move toward prophetic discussions of the end of time, the Book of Revelation explains that the political head of the World War III Axis of Power will finally completely destroy the Catholic Church:

“And He saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.  And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire (17: 15 – 16).”
