Malachy’s Prophecies, Hypocrisy, Ex-Pope & Cardinal Scandals! Part 5

Increasingly internet bloggers, overseas journalists and a few editorials in U.S. newspapers have become more than disgusted with allegations of child-rape, prosecutorial avoidance and official cover-ups in the Catholic Church for decades.

In one of his last articles, ‘The Great Catholic Cover-Up: The Pope’s Entire Career has the Stench of Evil About It,’ the late Christopher Hitchens quotes Rev. Gabriele Amorth who had been the Vatican’s chief exorcist for 25 years:

“ . . . the Devil is at work inside the Vatican . . . when one speaks of ‘the smoke of Satan’ in the holy rooms, it is all true—including these latest stories of violence and pedophilia.”  An astounding accusation from one experienced in dealing with devils! They may not be ministers, but several writers agree with him.

Hitchens says it was inevitable that the scandal would reach the top of the church, when the College of Cardinals elected Joseph Ratzinger––the one Cardinal chiefly responsible for the cover-ups––to be Pope, supposedly the vicar of Christ!

From the first recorded incident of child rape in 1979, Hitchens claims Ratzinger, then an archbishop, transferred the offending priest––who had locked the boy, Wilfried F., in a mountain retreat’s cabin and forced oral sex upon him––to another church for “therapy.” But the offender soon returned to raping boys.

The late author claims:  “This is common or garden stuff, very familiar to American and Australian and Irish Catholics whose children’s rape and torture, and the cover-up of same by the tactic of moving rapists and torturers from parish to parish, has been painstakingly and comprehensively exposed.”  Hitchens expounds that even the ex-Pope’s brother, Monsignor Georg Ratzinger, admits to ‘slapping the boys around’ at the choir school he ran for some 30 years.

Further, this esteemed author says: “Ratzinger issued a confidential letter to every bishop. In it, he reminded them of the extreme gravity of a certain crime. But that the crime was the reporting of the rape and torture. The accusations, intoned Ratzinger, were only treatable within the church’s own exclusive jurisdiction.”  Thus, disclosure of these crimes was “under penalty of excommunication.”

As either Archbishop, Cardinal or Pope, Joseph Ratzinger may have been trying to protect guilty priest by not responding to charges against them. However, he should have been aware that Christ Himself––for Whom the ex-Pope claimed to work––has said that child sex-offenders are never forgiven and are bound for hell:

“And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea (Matthew 9: 42).”

Further, according to historical Books of the Old Testament, the greatest sins are those committed by charlatans claiming to do God’s work in His Holy Name (Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28, etc.).  They have special seats in eternal abodes as well!
