And There Shall Be Signs: Change of the Guards––Choice or Final End!

    Historical Bible books make clear that changes in national leaderships can profoundly affect peoples and nations (Exodus 1: 8, Acts 7: 17-19, Matthew 2: 19- 22, Daniel 5: 26-28, etc.), changing freedoms and privilege to servitude, dislodging political alliances, and shifting cultural eras. Particularly, Daniel 10: 12 – 21 illustrates spiritual battles that take place to affect massive disruptions on earth.

Thus, consider the many simultaneous replacements of leaders taking place in religious and national ‘hot-spots’ in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  There are new popes in both the Roman Catholic and Coptic Catholic Churches.

One, Pope Francis, represents both the old Italy of Europe and the new recognition of South America, as he begins the task of reversing the shame of the Catholic Church due to child-rape among many of the priests in his fold.

The other, Pope Tawadros II, recently installed head of the Coptic Church for some eight million Christians in Egypt, and of the Coptic Christian world,  represents the fight of Christianity to survive amid increasing persecution and violence from Muslims and those of other religions.  Just recently, scores of Christians were injured and killed during a Muslim raid on that Pope’s church.

When The LORD Jesus speaks to seven churches in chapters 2 and 3 of the Book of Revelation, He makes clear that churches and nations have limited times to strengthen their faithfulness to God. Christian churches in Europe, the Middle East and the United States are nearing the end of those limited times.

Only authentic prayers of repentance, directed through God’s Holy Spirit, can slow the decline of Christianity around the world, and hold back the tide of sin and decadence enveloping a world that now prepares for the rise of the anti-Christ.

Simultaneously consider: 1) A new head of China indicates it is time to loose his nation’s protection of North Korea; 2) Both North and South Korea have new leaders––one who has the nuclear capability to start World War III, an ability his father and grandfather never had;

3) A newly elected President of the United States has installed a new Secretary of State and a new Secretary of Defense who have moved war machinery in place to battle North Korea; and 4) The reign of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as President of Iran comes to an end this summer, and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has pledged his support for North Korea, and has also promised to bomb Israel out of existence.

Yes, with these ‘Changes of the Guards,’ mankind can collectively turn toward an era of peace, prosperity, and amiable relations between peoples and nations, for even a short space of time.

Or else these new leaders can use the unspeakable horror of World War III’s nuclear chaos to kill billions of human beings, and bring forth Satan’s final ruler for an unbelievably evil seven-year reign such as the world has never before seen!
