‘Cold’ Churches in EU, Turkey & Russia Invite Islamic Growth

IMG0714    Christians in America may find it difficult to grasp, but politicizing, culturalizing and reducing the love of God to denominational argument, not only denies The LORD’s  sacrifice, but edges His Church toward extinction.

Turkey was once a ‘hotbed’ of Christianity.  Apostles Paul and Timothy and several early century patriarchs were born there. Those who fervently believed in The LORD Jesus were first called Christians at Antioch, Turkey (Acts 11: 16).

Moreover, all of the seven churches The LORD judges in Revelations, chapters 2 and 3, were in Turkey.  He warned five of those churches, that if their members did not repent of errant ways, He would remove His light of salvation, and those churches would be destroyed.

Christian membership throughout the Middle East is low, but the lowest is in Turkey.  Wikipedia points out that now Turkey has “a smaller Christian percentage of its population than any of its neighbors, including Syria and even Iran.”

Throughout those regions, as church populations grew ‘cold’ from lack of Christian love, Spirit-led growth and God-inspired witnessing outreach, Muslim instead practiced strict adherence to making its populations expand.

For instance in what use to be 30 churches within the Byzantine rite, 16 have been turned into mosques for continuous Muslim worship. A few ex-churches lie in ruins or are displayed as ‘dead’ museums.  And only six Christian churches remain.

The same can be seen throughout Russia and Europe.  In ‘Russia Becoming a Muslim State!, Salah Uddin Shoaib Muslim-Christian-ChurchesChoudhury argues:  “According to Paul Goble, a specialist on ethnic minorities in the Russian Federation has predicted that within the next several decades, Russia will become a Muslim majority state.”

And this transformation is not all from forced births within emigrant communities.  Several years ago, Steven Lee Myers wrote for The New York Times, ‘Growth of Islam in Russia Brings Soviet Response:’
“Here in the northern Caucasus, and across all of Russia, Islamic faith is on the rise. So is Islamic militancy, and fear of such militancy, leading to tensions like those felt in Europe, where a flow of immigrants from the Muslim world is straining relations with liberal, secular societies.

“And so the government has recreated the Soviet-era system of control over religion with the Muslim Spiritual Department, which oversees the appointment of Islamic leaders.  But the Muslims of Russia are not immigrants and outsiders; they are typically the indigenous people of their regions.”  Thus, first Communism weakens the Russia church, now in these end-times Islam finishes it off.

Be warned America: Keep defining Christianity in terms of race, ethnic origin, political alliances, denominational doctrines, etc. and then expect more decline of Christian faith.  As historical Bible Books continually preach: “ . . .faith worketh by love (Galatians 5: 6),” not doctrinal differences or political fighting.

Also, “Charity [love] suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil (1 Corinthians 13: 4 – 5).” These are the principles of Jesus Christ that nearly-dead churches pretend to forget!
