Putin-Walks-Off        Because he could not believe those snubs from other G-20 leaders at their recent conference in Australia, Putin left early in a huff. Why were they all peacefully working together to prosper their countries in the coming year?

Why did they keep bringing up Ukraine? Don’t they recognize that, as the richest country in the world, Russia has a right to Ukraine? Why is Australia still lamenting its scores of people Russia’s missile shot down over Ukraine?

Putin went there expecting to be honored. Instead, he was an outcast! Voice of America and other new outlets write:  “Canadian Prime Stephen Harper, upon meeting Putin privately said, “I guess I’ll shake your hand, but I have only one thing to say to you: You need to get out of Ukraine.

“British Prime Minister David Cameron also confronted Putin. Cameron is quoted as telling Putin relations between Russia and the West have reached a fork in the road on Ukraine. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott called on Putin to ‘atone’ for the shooting down of a Malaysian passenger jet over . . . Ukraine.”

“The U.S. president called a trilateral meeting with allies Australia and Japan and they issued a statement making clear their opposition to Russia’s annexation of Crimea, its actions to destabilize eastern Ukraine, and calling for those responsible for the downing of Malaysia Flight 17 to be brought to justice.”

Matthew Fisher of clarifies:  “Russia’s aggressive behavior in Ukraine, and the sour reaction by politicians . . .  to Putin’s presence in the Antipodes with Russian warships looming just over the horizon, largely pushed the economy and the environment to the side.

“What to do about Putin? That has become a central obsession of many leaders this year. So it was again at Brisbane, Stop-Putinwhere the cocky Russian leader was shunted to the end of the row at dinner and during theatrical performances and was even isolated in the diplomatic equivalent of Siberia during carefully orchestrated group photos.”  But inferring more isolation, or even more sanctions, as Germany’s Andrea Merkel threatened, may not be enough to rein Putin in.  He wants war!

The only power his once wealthy nation has left is its war machinery. defines ‘delusional’ as “. . . having false or unrealistic beliefs or opinions; Psychiatry: maintaining fixed false beliefs even when confronted with facts, usually as a result of mental illness:” Wikipedia adds:  “A delusion is a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary.”

Although seemingly intelligent, Putin––as much as Hitler––is delusional to the point of insanity.  And if he keeps threatening war, he may one day step over the line and start World War III. Too bad Putin didn’t listen to Orthodox pastors reading God’s Word aloud every Sunday. He may have heard wise advice:

Historians of axis and allies history world war often point to The LORD Jesus’ message in Luke 14: 31-32: “Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.”  But after World War III nukes fall there can be no peace!
