Novels By Rex Stout Make Gifts For Lifelong Wisdom

2-novels-by-rex-stoutI love to give the gift of a good novel. These kinds of gifts are ones that will give and give again. A gift of a good book can be life-changing and that is what I love about it. Finding a good book to give as a gift is always exciting to me. Since I am becoming a Christian, I have a lot of Christian friends and we love to discover Christian-themed books together.

When I want to give the gift of wisdom that will last a lifetime, I love to find a good book that I can give to a friend or a family member. Even though I have a lot of Christian friends, I also have a lot of friends who are non-Christian as well and they are people who are very important to me. I like to tell them about the Bible and about Christianity whenever I get a chance.

With novels by Rex Stout, I always have something good to read and something that I can get a friend or family member excited about as well. I have been reading these novels for a long time and they are always thrilling and educational reads. Giving the gift of one of these novels is always a good choice and one that will have lifelong benefits.

Picking Out Nero Wolfe – Three for the Chair to Read

posted by WiseBooks @ 12:00 PM
December 20, 2016

1-booksI love to spend time reading books of all kinds. It is always wonderful to be able to head to a library or to a bookstore where I can find new reading material that I can enjoy on a regular basis. It is so easy for me to find all kinds of different types of books that I can read in a variety of genres when I am looking for these different books in the library or at a bookstore.

Most recently, I was looking around online for some books just because there were some really great deals on books that I had seen priced a lot higher at many different places. It was really great to be able to find so many great prices on a range of different types of books that I knew I would be interested in. I spent a good amount of time choosing different ones to read.

One of the books that I bought is a very interesting one that I never really expected to pick up. I have only just begun to read Nero Wolfe – Three for the Chair, but so far it has been a very unexpected read. It is always great for me to find books like these that are ones that are just so interesting on the whole.

Reading the Nero Wolfe Novels by Rex Stout Yet Again

nero wolfe novels by rex stoutI have recently been revisiting some of the books that I read in the past because I love being able to reread books. It just seems to me that when you reread a book you are able to really get a lot more out of it then you might have gotten the first time around. You are able to immerse yourself more fully into the world of the characters and great them as old friends.

Since I have some extra time this summer, I have started to work on reading through many of the books that I have read in the past. Out of all of these books that I am reading, my favorites are the Nero Wolfe novels by Rex Stout. I read these books a long time ago but am now ready to read them again as it has been quite some time since I read them last.

I have been really enjoying rereading all of these different novels purely because these novels are something that is so very enjoyable to me. It is exciting to be able to read them again going back over the different mysteries that they are solving and running around in a typical police officer’s world. It is fun to be able to read these books again.

Christian Mystery Fiction Keeps Me Looking For Answers

posted by WiseBooks @ 15:39 PM
May 24, 2016

mystery fictionI have always been interested in reading Christian-related books. I have always been very fascinated by different religions and how committed people are to them. I would like to become a true believer in God, but don’t feel that I am there yet. When I read Christian mystery fiction, I get to see religion from the author’s perspective and it always gives me interesting insights.

There are always interesting topics covered in Christian fiction. I like to read stories about the relationship between what the Bible says and the world in which we live today. It’s always nice to dive into a different world and to be able to get lost in it. I am always looking for answers to life’s toughest questions, including religious ones.

There are a lot of books out there that are on various Christian topics. I like to read books both that are for Christianity and that are anti-Christianity as well. Reading Christian mystery fiction that talks about the Bible is always interesting and gives me some good perspective on the Christian religion. I can’t wait to start my next awesome mystery fiction book and to discover all that it has in store for me.

The Evidence of Things ‘Now’ Seen

posted by Dr. Jael Ever @ 18:08 PM
November 9, 2015

I hope our readers have been keenly aware that what is happening in the syria-the-start-of-ww31 is precisely what we write about in this blog continuously: World War III has already started. Syria, under its present ruler, is collapsing; Russia has run in to prop it up; and Egypt is now drawn into, what will become a ‘game changer,’ with the recent ISIS sabotage of a Russian plane over Sinai.

As Daniel (1: 35-45) and other prophets (i.e. John in Revelation) explains (and is correctly interpreted in Dake’s annotated Scriptures), the anti-Christ–now surely operating somewhere within ISIS–will eventually defeat Egypt, Iran, Iraq and Turkey and incorporate Greece (as Europe fully incorporates the recent hoard of Syrian immigrants who will soon incorporate Islam into what is left of the Church in Europe). The only question is what role will the U.S. play in these final end-time battles.

As Satan savagely attacked our ability to blog these past months, we have waited prayerfully before The LORD, trying to build finances so new computer systems could be established for this site, as well as for our other blog site,

During that time, one of our team members suggested a regional newspaper and an internet radio program as other possible venues.  Hoping to mute what they see as my harsh messages that the U.S. and the world are in the last days of existence as we know them, the members voted that the internet radio program should be called ‘Home for Today and Tomorrow.’ They strongly believe that if Christians in this nation and around the world can just get their families to better exercise faith and love at home, it can lead to genuine revival throughout the nation and the world, as true believers prepare for their home in heaven.

I agreed to try this new venue, which can now be seen on ‘You Tube,’ and for an hour a week I urgently plead that this nation can only be saved from utter destruction if Christians wholly repent, begging God to spare our families by His grace and to bring authentic revival to our homes and churches–a revival led by The Holy Spirit and not be men.

However much the team doesn’t want to hear a negative message, the U.S. is tumbling down the tunnel of apostasy, a Biblical term which means falling away from God (2 Thessalonians 2: 3, Jude 1: 24). So-called Christian leaders now reject the Bible as the only standard for Christian living, as they deceptively establish new, very Satanic permissiveness.

The only hope now is for individuals to get their own lives straight, to re-establish their families in God’s true laws, and if they can find no Holy Spirit-led church in their cities to start one in their homes, as it was done in the New Testament (i.e. I and III John).

Today’s culture in America is just too full of cursing and lying tongues. As Nero Wolfe’s novels by Rex Stout reinforce God Holy Word: “The (natural, unsaved human) heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it (besides God)? (Jeremiah 17: 9)”

Spiritual Battles Between Greece, Germany and the EU

posted by Dr. Jael Ever @ 17:24 PM
August 5, 2015

eurozone-greeceAs we warned readers in, the two blogs have been under heavy attack for most of this year.  But Praise God! we seem to be pulling out of it.  I Just wanted to drop these loyal blog readers this note about what is really going on in the obviously grueling treatment that European Union (EU) negotiators, and especially Germany, have dished out to Greece, as that nation tries to survive another horrid economic shut-down.

As shown by their overwhelming  60% majority vote, Greek citizens did not want to remain in the EU.  They were weary of Germany’s insufferable austerity treatment and its every increasing shadow against Greek culture and national identity.  Only two institutions in the nation wanted Greece to stay with the EU: the banks, which urgently need EU and International Monetary Funds loan capital to survive; and the Greek Orthodox Church.

Please understand that the Greek Church is a reflection of Christian churches around the world–all of which are either undergoing persecution or are in an enormously dangerous backslidden condition–both of which are shown in Revelations chapters 2 and 3, both chapters of which shout urgent messages to churches today.  Understand that most of the churches in those chapters were in Greece when they were written.  While some Bible scholars place them in Turkey, the truth is that the churches rest on borders between the two countries, and their territories were in Greek hands when Apostle John wrote the seven letters.

Moreover, when Apostle Paul founded the churches in Corinth, that city was the capital of Greece.  And it was only a few blocks away from Athens, which was the capital for Greek intellectual thought and institutional pagan religions. Such is the history of the ancient history Greek Orthodox Church and it is fighting tremendous battles to maintain that history:  1) Low church attendance by back-sliding Christians; 2) Strong advances from Muslim immigrants and new native-born Greek converts; 3) Violence against church pastors and bishops; and 4) Open destruction and burning of churches. (By comparison, please start keeping tabs on the growing number of churches being bombed, set fire to, etc. in the U.S.).

In The LORD’s letters to the seven churches, He warned the either Jewish traditions of law-keeping rather than living by God’s grace, or lurid pagan practices of sodomy, adultery, astrology, etc. were sneaking into Christian churches and would devastate them.

Today Greek Orthodox churches, as well as the nation itself, struggle to withstand invitations to join Greek-Orthodox-churchRussia and thus the Russian Orthodox Church.  Russia has no such strong ties to the New Testament, nor does Germany. Thus, in the atmosphere of spiritual warfare, angels and demons within Satan’s kingdom battle one another for dominate control.  Right now Germany has economic control over all of Europe, and thanks to Hitler and one of three popes still governing the Catholic Church, the German Catholic Church still has a strong hold over the continent as well.

But Greece is the keystone of that battle, because once Greece breaks away from the EU she will reunite with Turkey, Egypt and what is left of Iraq and they will constitute reestablishment of Alexander’s Empire, from which the anti-Christ will emerge. In Ephesians 6 (also written to a Greek church) Apostle Paul also tells Christians that the end is nigh and The Body of Christ must be ready to fight. So church as, as Nero Wolfe advocates in one of his novels about World War II, ‘let’s get ready to go to war! When Greece leaves the EU, World War III will begin!

Saudi Arabia’s ISIS: 911 Not Faded From America’s Consciousness

posted by Dr. Jael Ever @ 18:03 PM
September 16, 2014

oil-saudi_support_terrorism    U.S. government officials think the American people are stupid, that they have bad memories, and are caught up with growing mountains of trivia and lies sanctioned media feeds them minute by minute.  But just the opposite is true.

Americans remember those 911 days when certain high Saudi Arabian ‘royalty’ quickly skirted Bin Ladin’s family members out of New York City. They  suspect the 20 plus pages still marked ‘Secret’ from the ‘Official’ 911 report contains the truth about Saudi Arabia’s involvement. And many Americans also glean that ISIS probably comes from the same shadowy source.

General Smedley Butler was right: This coming war is nothing but a hidden racket. This one––and Bin Ladin’s and most of the others before him––is about oil money; and it waged to hide the continuous rebellion of Wahhabism within Saudi rulership: a kingdom made unspeakably wealthy by the world’s reliance on oil!

As Alastair Crooke constantly cries in the wilderness:  ‘You Can’t Understand ISIS If You Don’t Know the History of Wahhabism in Saudi Arabia’:
“Saudi Arabia’s internal discord and tensions over ISIS can only be understood by grasping the inherent (and persisting) duality that lies at the core of the Kingdom’s doctrinal makeup and its historical origins.

“One dominant strand to the Saudi identity pertains directly to Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab (the founder of Wahhabism), and the use to which his radical, exclusionist puritanism . . . The second strand to this perplexing duality relates precisely to King Abd-al Aziz’s subsequent shift towards statehood . . .

“. . . his institutionalization of the original Wahhabist impulse––and the subsequent seizing of the opportunely surging petrodollar. . .  to channel the volatile Ikhwani current away from home towards export––by diffusing a cultural revolution, rather than violent revolution throughout the Muslim world.”

In other words, King Aziz pointed those bullets of rebellion away from home and now they are pointed to the U.S. and Western world. Thus ISIS, like Bin Ladin––who was a direct member of the Saudi royal family––is born and bred in Wahhabism.  And as Cooke (and many other Middle East scholars––as well as The Holy Bible)––points out: ISIS is not rooted in the Islamic Muslim faith of others!

“But this ‘cultural revolution’ was no docile reformism. It was a revolution based on Abd al-Wahhab’s Jacobin-like hatred for the putrescence and deviationism that he perceived all about him––hence his call to purge Islam of all its heresies and idolatries.” Thus, ISIS honors no nation or religion other than its own creation.

Wahhabi Islam insists:  “Those who would not conform to this view should be killed, their wives and daughters violated, and their possessions confiscated.” Such views justify slaughtering Muslims or any others who get in ISIS’ way. AP_ISIS_TG_140620_16x9_992

Saudi Arabia has exported this violence so well, its weapon may implode on that nation. As Christian suspense fiction foretells, ISIS, and movements growing from it, are Satanic movements that ‘good’ armies will not easily defeat.

These evil warriors will indeed produce the ultimate anti-Christ.  As Daniel 11: 38 speaks of anti-Christ who will eventually lead ISIS organizations:  “But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.”

Resurrection of ‘Star Trek’: The ‘Fiction’ of Science Fiction Film

posted by Dr. Jael Ever @ 9:00 AM
April 23, 2014

20130515-bc-x600-1368627031    Unfortunately, in this post-modern age in America, for too many reality is conceived from fiction and fantasy, not from the dictates of God’s Word to a Christian nation. Even within this often cynical culture films––such as ‘Lincoln,‘ ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy,’ and ‘The King’s Speech,’ etc.––can be educational because historically true, emotionally uplifting because they present the best people are capable of and enjoyable––primarily because they spring from facts.

Because so many among today’s population have strayed away from a Bible-based culture, they often depend upon movies to give them a ‘true’ sense of reality. Such habits of looking for suggestions from such cultural icons lend opportunity for dangerous misinformation, and lies presented as possibilities.

Such is the case with the latest fiction-fantasy attempts in two recent ‘Star Trek’ films. Certainly all fiction is supposedly based on some reality.  But these two films, set supposedly at least 300 years from now in the 2250s when flights to distant planets is commonplace, leave realms of reality into phantoms of fantasy.

First, the seemingly immortal character Spock assumes to have lived over 160 years, and is thus able to communicate with himself as a younger man who lives in an alternate reality.  The younger Spock, played by Zachary Quinto, is a co-star in both movies, while the elder is Leonard Nimoy, from earlier versions.

Their point being that people can bounce to different spheres of space and time and remember a different past than that in present consciousness.  Chris Pine, playing a younger Captain Kirk, from the beginning finds believing in such fantasy too much for even a veteran space man, but he goes along with the gag.

In the second film, ‘Star Trek Into Darkness,’ a villain named Khan, played by Benedict Cumberbatch  is to have Star-Trek-Into-Darknessput himself and his space ship’s crew to sleep using cryo-genetics––another popular myth fostered by Google co-founder, Larry Page, that through certain combinations of vitamins and food additives man can live indefinitely, and then put himself to sleep in a ‘frozen’ state for a later time.
Knowing susceptibilities of today’s youth, one must assume that the films’ purpose, like that of Larry Page, is to convince viewers that such fantasies are indeed probable. However, regarding present realities:  1) People today do not live 150 years; 2) No combination of supplements can extend life for such decades; 3) Cryo-genetics is an absolutely unproven ‘science’; 4) Most people have no known realities other than on this earth––a very few, such as Apostle Paul, have visited the third heaven, and he doesn’t know if he was in a human body or not:

“I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven (2 Corinthians 12: 2).”

5) The only alternate about time is that it is constantly moving, never to be revisited; 6) Life on earth will not last even another century, as this planet rushes to a violent climax; 7) Only a small minority of human beings who have ever lived will be able to visit other planets:  “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever (Daniel 12: 3).”

This and every generation must understand this crucial promise in God’s Word:  “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment  (Hebrews 9: 27).”  That is true reality.  Each person has one life, one time. There are no do-overs.  Only repentance for one’s sins and redemption through faith in the blood of The LORD Jesus Christ can erase those sins for viewing or non-viewing at God’s judgment seat.  Don’t be fooled. These movies are fantasies, lies, make believe! For more realistic fiction try novels by Rex Stout.

More ‘Disappearing’ Mysteries Than Just the Missing Malaysia Plane

posted by Dr. Jael Ever @ 9:00 AM
March 14, 2014

Malaysia-Airlines-2        There are more mysteries around Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 than just the disappearing airplane? Answers to some of these questions have urgent importance for Americans planning to fly overseas through airports in smaller countries.

According to Wikipedia, Malaysia is an emerging developing country with a land mass of 127, 350 square miles bordered by Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei on land, and Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines on water.  Malaysia was not even established as a country until 1946.

So how could a country this small have an airport which is base for Boeing aircraft? What is its source of wealth. Again, Wikipedia reports:  “Malaysia is a relatively open state-oriented and newly industrialized market economy. The state plays a significant but declining role in guiding economic activity.

But then the same can be said of the Vietnam International Airport, the two Indonesian International Airports, the Thailand International Airport.  Brunei is the only one of these countries known for its wealth.  The Sultan of Brunei has imposed Sharia Law on his country just this year.  He probably has private airports.

“Malaysia has had one of the best economic records in Asia, with GDP growing an average 6.5 per cent annually from 1957 to 2005. In 2011, the GDP was about $450  billion, the third largest economy in ASEAN and the 29th largest in the world.” Of course, the exact number of planes owned by Malaysian airlines is unknown. Such information is not on the internet.  And why is that?

How can such a small country pay for such costly planes?  Are they privately owned, or did the country buy Malaysia-news-conferencethem? Did the U.S. authorize the sale?  If so, why? What kind of training is required for all airport and flight personnel in these smaller countries? Do U.S. government workers supervise such training?

Also, Malaysia is primarily a Muslim country with 61.3% of citizens claiming Islamic beliefs, 19.8% Buddhism, 9.2% christian and 6.3% Hinduism.  So with such a high population of Muslims, and possibilities of radicalization, why has the Malaysian government ruled out terrorism?  How do they know such?

Further, if such an airplane disappearance happened in the U.S., authorities would immediately search the houses of all crew members, beginning with the pilot and co-pilot.  Why has this not been done in this case?

In ‘Missing Malaysia Jet Pilots Described as “Humble” and “Safety-Conscious”,’ CBS News writes:  “Malaysians have rushed to defend the reputations of the pilots, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53, and Fariq Abdul Hamid, [27].”

With just 2,763 hours of flight experience, Fariq is said to have been in charge of the plane. Yet having “just graduated to the cockpit of the Boeing 777,” he only recently started co-piloting the Boeing 777.  Mr. Shah even has a Boeing 777 co-pit simulator in his home on which he practices.

More questions:  Just graduated from what school of training?  Is Boeing in charge of that school? As a matter of fact, does Boeing supervise the training for any overseas airliners?  Why does Mr. Shah need a practicing simulator at home?

Lots of questions.  But international mass media provides few answers.  Right now all focus is on finding the plane which, truthfully, may never be found.  This conundrum requires the type of investigators seen in novels by Rex Stout. If not, one must apply God’s Word: “The fear of The LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1: 7.)”

Sandy Funds: Feds Send, Some Abscond, Poor Get No Relief

posted by Dr. Jael Ever @ 18:13 PM
February 5, 2014

Hurricane_Sandy_half-house    Suspicions arise over ways in which Hurricane Sandy relief funds have reached only a few higher economic families. The poor are generally left behind. No systems are in place to account for relief funds or to question why those Sandy victims most in need of relief have been left far behind, still living ‘on streets.’

An honest report on unpaid relief funds for New Jersey Hurricane victims is from a ‘disappearing’ website, titled ‘Hurricane Sandy:  Housing Needs One Year Later.’  That site says its data summarizes survey findings “to measure the ongoing impact of Hurricane Sandy, one year after the storm made landfall.”

It states that “39% of all household damaged in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut area affected by the storm, 50% of low-income households, 50% of all renter households–– all said that the building damage had not been fully repaired. 16% of all households reported health problems or mental distress” from Sandy.

Eight percent say they have lost jobs or income because of the storm.  “32% of renters in damaged buildings reported they wanted to move after the storm, but were forced to remain because of their lease agreement.” Is that enforceable?

Urgently important for other contemporary investigations in the state of New Jersey:  “Housing damage was most pervasive in New Jersey, with 27% of households reporting the damage to their home or building.

“This is in comparison to only 14% of New York State households and 9% of Connecticut household reporting damage.  As demonstrated in the charts below, repair progress in New Jersey lags slightly behind the other two states, with only 57% of household reporting completely repaired damage.”

Gretcen Barrett of writes:  “The majority of New Jersey residents are still woefully unprepared CONEYSTORM1sub-color-articleLarge (3)for such a massive storm and for days (in some cases weeks) without heat, power and public transportation, or the ensuing food and fuel shortages.” But The New York Times Editorial Board takes it further:

“Civil rights groups in New Jersey filed a complaint with the Department of Housing and Urban Development in April charging that the state plan for distributing Hurricane Sandy recovery aid discriminated against blacks and Hispanics who lost their homes in the storm.”

What this situation needs is the kind of detective work shown in Nero Wolfe novels by Rex Stout.  What happened to New Jersey Hurricane funds?  Why haven’t more of them been distributed? Why have wealthy projects that received little or no storm damage received millions to repair what is not broken?  Why have poor neighborhoods received little or no state, private or federal aide? etc. etc.

Many Scriptures in God’s Holy Word demands care of the poor first:  “. . . I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide . . . to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land (Deuteronomy 15: 11).” Why then do some political leaders wonder when judgment unexpectedly falls upon them?
