Why No More Seas? Absolute Final Judgments

If true Christians are to understand End-time judgments, believers must understand that—unless each sin is atoned for, according to Old Testament rules, or confessed, repented of, and placed under the blood of The LORD Jesus Christ, and washed away forever as offered in The New Testament—God The Father, never, ever forgets each and every sin, and, in the final days of Judgment, He will make each and every sinner pay for what he or she has done. (This is why confession, repentance and restoration are essential Christian acts).

Also there was no more sea.

In Revelation 21: 1, Apostle John writes: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” Beforehand, when the Apostle saw The LORD Jesus proclaiming end times, John explains: “And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer (Revelation 10: 5 – 6).” Furthermore in verse 8, the judgment locations are turned around and sea is placed before earth: “And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.”

So why—as He prepares to return to earth—does The LORD Jesus keep stressing “seas” as in oceans and sea waters? Just what is under the seas? Well Genesis 1: 1 – 2 explains: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” In verse 1, the earth was perfect. But in verse 2, the sins of Satan, his angels, men and other beings on earth brought God’s judgment. Those judged beings were placed under water—i.e. seas and oceans.

In the wholesale Christian Bible,Apostle Peter explains those days as “the world that then was”: “For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished (2 Peter 3: 5 – 6).”

Every being on earth at that time was destroyed and placed under water—i.e. under seas and oceans.

No, this was not Noah’s flood. The prophet Jeremiah was allowed to see back in time: “I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end (Jeremiah 4: 24 – 27).” In Noah’s flood 8 men and women survived. In the one Jeremiah saw in his God-inspired vision: “ . . . there was no man.” In Noah’s flood, birds directed the ark as to where to go. In this flood, all the birds of the heavens were destroyed.

But the evil angels did not give up on their assault to make men and women sin. In Genesis 6, Satan and his angels again brought human beings to the point of unforgivable sins—i.e. again creating giants by angels impregnating women, and building tall buildings to enable people to communicate with devils and fallen angels up in the first and second heavens of air and space–so much so that God repented that He had ever made human beings: “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart (Genesis 6: 5 – 6).”

Christians must understand that God usually works in series of threes. Thus, as He prepares to return to earth, The LORD Jesus proclaims judgment upon the sins of the earth and of the seas. This is why Apostle John was so sickened when he understood the meaning of The Book The LORD Jesus held as He had one foot on dry land and the other on the sea: “And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

“And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter (Revelation 10: 8 – 10).”

Yes, for those who do not comprehend God’s awesome judgments, sins by word or deed come so easily. Those living on earth today—whether professing Christians or not—have so little time left for full and sincere repentance. God is both Infinite and Eternal. Yes, He is The God of Love—i.e. John 3: 16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” But He is also The God of Judgment. There are no perfect human beings. The only way to escape that judgment, is to be “in Christ,” to accept The LORD Jesus as Savior and to abide by His rules in His Word.
