Wickedness & Deception Dwell in High Places

The following is a personal testimony from family history. Specific cities, church denominations, and the culprit will not be named. The first two are well known and surely the third has very wealthy living descendants.

My mother was the oldest of 13 children. Some must have died along the way, because my cousins and I only know of five remaining ones: my mother—who had only one child, me; Uncle Carl, who had three children, two boys and a girl; Uncle Robert with three children, two girls and a boy; Uncle Clarence, who married late in life with no children; and my Aunt Dorothy, who never married and had no children.

Their mother was a beautiful but quite innocent young school teacher who had just graduated from teachers’ college and was in her first year of teaching, when a young immigrant farmer from England fell in love with and married her. They lived in a very rural farming area and constant work did not allow much time for school, and, of course my grandmother used most of her energy rearing and having babies. The only rare visitor the family had was a traveling Bible teacher who tried to teach the children the Bible and tell them about The LORD Jesus. Thank God for her!

When my grandfather, her husband, died, the man who was apparently a very shrewd and wealthy farmer, left his wife 13 or so farms, which were rented out to farming tenants. This allowed my grandmother to move to a large city where she rented a second floor, three-bedroom apartment. By then, my mother had also moved to a big city; her brothers Carl and Robert had done the same. They all married and had children.

But they soon learned that my grandmother had joined a church which was part of a large, well-known denomination. Over the years, my father died of TB, and my mother, closed their Room-Rental agency, and moved to the city where my grandmother lived. There my mother rented two bedrooms in my grandmother’s apartment. In my early years of elementary school, I remember never seeing or even meeting her good church friends; but I do remember hearing a car horn blowing, and my grandmother rushing down the hall in a long black dress with a white flowing collar climbing down the stairwell to greet the lady who picked her up every Sunday for church.

We lived just across the bridge from my Uncle Robert. I remember in the summer time my cousins and I would play in the mud four stories down behind his flat which was built slanted on a very high hill. During deep snows in the winter, dressed in mismatched jackets and mittens, we would drag cardboard sleds up high hills and go sliding down. It was so much fun. All that stopped when Uncle Robert was slaughtered during an ‘accident’ at the steel mill. Owners gave his wife a few bucks to help with funeral arrangements.

But why were my grandmother’s children and grandchildren living in such pathetic conditions? What happened to the farms. As we grew up, my cousins and I would hear rumors that all the farms were gone. I know my Uncle Carl, taking off from his taxi job where he worked 12 to 18 hours a day, would go to see his mother to find out what happened. But he always returned with no news. My grandmother would tell my mother absolutely nothing. Eventually my grandmother died.

Years later, when I was grown, my mother admitted that after her mother’s funeral, she saw that this “well-known” church lady—who must have been in her 70 or even 80 years of life herself—had climbed into my grandmother’s casket and was performing oral sex on my grandmother’s dead body. Obviously, they were more than just casual “church” friends. Remember, that my grandmother was an innocent young widow, who had known nothing but having babies all her adult life. What little she had been taught about Christianity, probably meant to her that she should join a church.

As for the farms, we all found out that this ‘having sex with the dead’ church woman now owned all those farms. Over the years, she had taken all our heritage. They were stealthily slipped away under the guise of false religion. As cities had begun taking farm lands for decades, those farms are now probably worth millions. We know that this church lady had a son, and as my cousins and I are grown and have children and grandchildren of our own, we know that she, her son and now his children probably are living like kings on my family’s wealth.

Although I am nearly 80 myself, that well-known church lady in that very large well-known denomination may still be alive because the devil usually allows those who serve him to live long after their time, before he takes them down to hell to live with him for all eternity.

What’s the point? Know God very well for yourself. Read His Word constantly. Walk in His Word and obey it. Please do not base your faith on a church or a denomination—no matter how Christian it seems. Rather, base your faith in The LORD Jesus Christ Who shed His blood on the Cross to pay for all our sins. He loves you. He gave His life for you so that you could live for all eternity with Him. No other human being ever would or could do that. Remember, Satan’s workers are everywhere—even sitting in some church pews—always looking for innocent sheep they can fleece.

Remember also what The LORD Jesus teaches in your wholesale Christian Bible: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10)”. Also do not let anyone separate you from your family. Pray always for family members whether they are Christians or not. As Apostle Paul explains: “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple (Romans 16: 17-18).” Amen and Amen.
